After FOC, here comes.... RAG!!!

Rag is gonna start this week. Right after FOC. FOC was tiring. Dun ask why cos there's alot to explain and basically I dun wish to explain. But FOC was fun too! (Trojans!!! Woo Hoo~~ All come down for Rag ah. Lol.) And I got sun burnt until now become dark brown chocolate le. Raosted in Sentosa and then roasted again at SRC swimming pool. Last year never attend FOC, so this was quite a new experience for me. But it onl made me realised no matter how many times I join FOC as a councillor, I can never experience it as if I was a freshie taking part in it. In that way, its quite a loss.
But never mind. It was a fun experience afterall. And now's the time for Rag.
The whole of next month I'll be staying over in school. And now work is already piling so high. Not like I'm damn tall to begin with. Lol. Erm, nvm. But getting busier by the day. Sometimes wonder why I volunteered to do Rag. Then on hindsight, I'm very much indebted to Rag. :) And I just hope it'll be fun.
Just did the bloody sand model. So feeling abit tired now. Then again, its 2 am. Time to sleep. Rag material collection starts tomorrow (Actually its later. Lol.) and Rag goes into full swing. Bring it on. EverRAGdy.

FOC!!!

FOC is gonna be from 19 - 22 June! Actually quite a pity that I didn't attend the FOC last year and missed out on the fun. Not this time. Heh. Btw, if you don't know, FOC stands for Freshman Orientation Camp. Basically its just a camp to let incoming freshies have fun and know each other and the seniors as well. Also to psycho them come down for Rag. Heh.
Since I didn't attend last year, I will never know how it feels like to attend as a freshie. Kinda sad. :( But at least I get to be a councillor now. And from the looks of it, its gonna be FUN!!! Hope it'll be as fun as, if not more fun than last year's.
The main difference between previous FOCs and this year's is that this year's FOC is run mainly by Year 1s like me. Previous years have mostly seniors who have more experience. This is simply because our FOC head this year is Nic. :) They may lack the experience, but they bring with them innovation and fresh ideas. Already, there are old rules which they did away with and you can see that this camp is really different from previous years. Hope it'll be successful like previous years. FOC must be successful so RAG can be successful. Yeah.
Think I'm getting what they call zhi2 ye4 bing4 (forgot the english term, but means u get too immersed in work) cos I keep thinking about Rag. You know for Rag we supposed to collect Coca Cola cans to make part of the float. Then everywhere I go I keep bio-ing coke cans, especially when I go out and eat. Its like when eating I'll keep surveying my surroundings to look for anyone drinking coke and then koup their cans after they finish. Crap. Not as if I look at chio bu lor.
Especially since Rag is right after FOC, we're (Read: I'm) really pressed for time to get alot of things done. Sometimes really feel like flipping table and mai4 zuo3 liao. Like Xiaoshan say, our Rag Tag Line this year should be "Ah... F*** it la". LOL. Or "NUSSU Sux" in Latin (NUSSU sucrous?) Lol. But maybe just this planning period. Then maybe once we actually start doing it it'll be ok again. Grr... Let's have fun at FOC and not think about Rag for this week k? Actually I say this to my comm I wonder how many of them are thinking about Rag at all in the first place? Maybe only I'm thinking about Rag. Lol.

Busy Busy Busy

I'm not supposed to be typing my blog now simply because I have Rag stuff yet to settle. Grrr.... short one.
The holidays were supposed to be a break. End up that so many of us are as busy as usual. FOC is just 1 week away, so FOC preperation is in full swing and the comm people are busy. Rag is just after FOC and I'm also getting busier by the day. Haiz. Now I really understand when they sai planning for Rag is a tiring job. But I guess we all slog so hard simply because we want our plans to work, and we wanna do our best. So I guess it'll all be worth it at the end of the day.
Sorry if I fail to blog regularly as promised, but I'm really brought down by Rag work. The major problem is we're rushing against time. There's just so much left to do that should be done and not yet done. Haiz.
Anyway for my dear Rag Comm members who happen to read this, I just have to say you all have put in lots of effort and I sincerely thank you all for your contributions. I know some of you dread the coming of July where we'll all stay in school and do Rag full-time. I mean, who wants to stay in NUS for 1 bloody month? Well, I'm sorry if I've brought you all trouble and inconvenience. I really am sorry. If any of you Raggers have any problems or if you need more leave from Rag, pls feel free to let me know and I'll try my best to accomodate your requests.
Ok, now back to Rag stuff....

7 nights in Beijing

Back from Beijing!
I dun have any photos cos I didn't bring any cameras and the official photos from Qinyao are not out yet. But if you wanna see a few photos, do visit Kaishi's or Jonathan's blog. (I direct people to your blogs got recommendation fee or not?) But it was a VERY FUN trip! I'll just do a brief recap here.
1st day: Meet at airport fly to Beijing. When we reached Beijing, realised it was actually quite cold. Around 20 degrees, like aircon liddat. By the time we reached our hostel, it was already close to 1am, so we just went out for supper. Nothing interesing at supper cos we shared table with Prof Lau & wife, so not as fun as the other table. Gotta maintain certain standard you know... cannot talk too crappy with them when you dun know them that well... As if I talked much to them. Lol.
2nd day: Went for first company visit to CSDN. Very bad. Nearly dozed off a couple of times since we slept so late (around 3) after supper. Thankfully didn't sit front row. Oh wait I did. Dun care. Then went HSBC and Gobi Partners in the afternoon. Did not nod off at Goi partners only because I was standing throughout the discussion due to a lack of seats. But almost slept while standing too. Lol. Then went for the welcome dinner organised by the Tsinghua students. They really put in alotta efforts sia, go decorate the restaurant. Wonder if we must do the same when they come over Singapore. Then plus their food there so cheap, if we use the same budget maybe we bring them to hawker centre for welcome dinner le. Or maybe bring them eat the Beijing Feng Wei at the Biz canteen. LOL.
3rd day: Went Deloitte and CCB (Chinese Construction Bank, not watever else you were thinking).
4th day: Went to tour Peking and Tsinghua Universities. Then went to JP Morgan Chase. Their Universities are freaking huge la. Basket, even got lake inside lor. And its even a tourist attraction. -_-" And we also found out that their photocopy services only 5 cents (reminbi) per page. That's Singapore 1 cent!!! Can bring our next sem's lecture notes and tutorials go there photocopy? Lol.
5th day: We went to climb the Great Wall, went to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Actually didn't climb muc of the Great Wall cos some of the girls not feeling well, so only climbed a little with them. And that was when we be came "sworn-siblings"... Lol. Ask Kaishi for details. Ahaha. Then we almost ran through the forbidden city cos we went there quite late, close to the closing time. Wonder why its called Forbidden City when so many people are allowed in. Lol. But the place is under partial renovation, so did not get to see the 3 main bildings there. But good enough la. Ha. Then went Tiananmen Square to catch the flag lowering ceremony and found out that someone tried to burn the Mao Zedong portrait there just before we arrived. Lol. I made a racist joke there which is also political, so shall not say it here. If not this will be my last post ever before going jail. Lol. Ask me for the details if you wanna know... Lol.
6th day: Prepared and delivered our respective presentations on our findings.
7th day: Free day! Went to quite a few places to shop and look around. Developed a knack for bargaining there. Lol. There was even a point where I tried to bargain for ice-cream. Lol. I asked the lady if buy 2 ice-cream can give one free when the ice cream only costs $4 reminbi. Lol. I didn't really buy alot though the things there were cheap. A point for comparism. The latest Command and Conquer game is selling here at S$54.90 while at Beijing, the original is sold at $55 reminbi (= S$11). LOL.
8th day: Fly home. There was some major cockup in the issuing of air tickets, resulting in 4 of the girls having to take a much later afternoon flight while the rest took a morning flight. Namah. At least everyone got home safely. But it was a fun trip overall. Ha.

We spent all our free time walking around, paddle boat at Bei2 Hai3 (although there were motor ones. And Gong Lei held his bladder until he almost couldn't walk. LOL), eating things like sea horse, scorpions, beetles, starfish and other disgusting things at Wang2 Fu4 Jing3, ate super delicious but super mouth-numbing Mala food, chilled out at the best bar (and the cheapest one too) we all ever been which serves the best pizza we ever ate and shot crazy videos and MVs you'll never get to see anywhere else.
If not for the crazy weather, I wished it wouldn't end....

Prepare for Glory!

OK~~~ Exams over le! Yay!
Haha. Last paper just finished on thursday, ending 2 (or issit 3? Lost track of time while mugging. Lol) weeks of HELL. Shall not talk about the papers here, they're over, forget them. Yeah.
Now that exams are over, can think of holiday activities. Ahaha. Actually I was already thinking about them before exams la. Lol.
First up, we have STARDUST!! Kevin and Juli are in the FINALS, which will be held at UCC on Monday. Actually also dunno wat song they're gonna sing. Never hear that song before. But must be nice one la. Meaning they'll win. Meaning they'll donate half their winnings to Boran Fund and Half to Rag Fund. Ok~ Hope it'll be a fun evening even without Tank. Pang Seh rite...
Then on Tuesday, I'll be flying to China for the Acad com overseas study trip! Yeah. This will be a 1 week trip, with half (ok la, one-third) the trip members being boran people. Lol. We'll be going Beijing and will be visiting local companies and Beijing Uni and Tsing Hua. Should be quite fun. If not ask refund from Gong Lei. Lol.
And after the Trip, the next major event will be FOC. Missed last year's FOC cos I wasn't a Bizader - so too bad. Not missing this time though. But I'll be joining as a councillor though, so it'll be a different experience. Haha. But it'll be fun. The there's the problem of the Cheer Fight. I forgot some of my moves le. Lol. Jia lat. Later I also remember wrong lyrics go shout, "So Crack, crack, crack your Skull!" Liddat really kana crack skull. Lol.
And immediately after FOC, we have RAG!!! 1 month of hardcore RAG!!! OK~~~ Dunno wat to say about it now, just hope it'll be fun. Ok, it should be fun. Lol. And let's hope everyone give their best shot and we WIN ALL 9 SHIELDS!!!
Prepare for Glory!!!

Exams exams exams

Kana kaopeh-ed for not blogging for so long. Haiz, these few weeks busy with projects (esp the bloody fna proj.) and the upcoming exams. Really wish its now May 3rd and exams are over. Ok la, May 4th la, cos I know some people exams May 4th then finish. Lol.
Anyway not like got any major happening things have occured since my last post, so oh well.
But there's so much to look forward to once exams end.
First there's Stardust finals right after exams. Xiaoshan and Juli are in it, so we'll go down too. Too bad Tank cannot come. Fish tank have la. Lol. If not we can ask him to autograph on Lin JJ's album. Lol.
Then after that there's the Acad Com China Trip. Ok~~ Go Beijing loh!
And after that its FOC and RAG!!! I never go FOC last year, so this will be a new experience for me. But actually lucky I never join FOC last year lor. If not I confirm won't join Boran (Cos I would have requested to be different group as Qinyao. Lol.) and then I won't know the great bunch of people there and of course erm... Lol.
Talking about Rag, things are starting to build up lor. After exams, Rag will go full scale and we're gonna get busy le. But Oh Might as Well, I'll rather do rag than stoopid exams.
That'll be all for now ba. I promis to blog more after exams. Lol. Till then, Good Luck and All the Best to Everyone for their Exams!

For all The Kaypo People...

For all you Kaypos.... actually nothing to reveal la... lol :p
You know some things cannot liddat reveal one you know... shy. Ahaha...
But lets talk about other stuff.
Econs test today was quite crappy. Alot of ambiguous questions lor. And it was so difficult that the lecturer even extended the test by 15 mins. Lol. Thats the first time i heard such a ridiculous thing. But i guess difficult good mah. Then everyone buang together... maybe forever... Lol. No la. Difficult then can differentiate the zai ones mah. (Not as if I'm zai. Lol.) If its easy, then everyone will score high and the only way to differentiate is to see who make careless mistakes. And i hate that cos i always make careless mistakes. Lol. But yeah, if even people like jonathan say the test damn difficult means its damn difficult. Lol. Good wat. I like. Ahaha.
Then there're the bloody projects that are due. My SS project is sucky lor. Spend so much time on the presentation then now spend so much time on the written report. And to think alot of people took this module cos their seniors told them its interesting and easy to score. Ya rite. More like they kana fake by their seniors lor. More like their seniors ask them to take so no one compete with them for the easier SS modules. Lol.
Then there's stats project. I don't understand how come last sem those people do this project like so damn easy then we do this sem can vomit blood. I think cos last sem those people cos they can choose any topic, they go choose those bo liao topics until chen peiyi give up, so this sem requirements stricter. Haha. Personally, i think its just because this sem got alot of new tutors and they more garang, so they expect our project to be of SingStat standards. Aiya, liddat then i cannot do my stats project on whether grass at NUS is greener than the grass at NTU le.
And finally there's stoopid FNA project. I think i need to go catch up on my FNA lor. Cos the questions very confusing and we dunno how to approach the questions. Actually I think its just us thinking too much and interpreting the questions in too many permutations. Lol. Especially that stoopid keith. Crap lor, ask all the stoopid questions then stretch the meeting to 4 hrs. Kaoz. And we did only 4 questions. (And they are not even complete.) I don't balme my group-mates la. Just keith. Basket, next meeting more efficient can or not?? Lol.
Argghhh... think i'll be better off sleeping. Good luck to all those who have projects and Good Nite.
