Time for Mugging

Now that tutorials have commenced, everyone's timetable seems to get a little more packed. Furthermore, with NUS' aim to get students to participate and learn actively in class (There are points for class participation now, see?), we have to do our tutorials. I mean, how can you participate if you dun do your work?? Ok, maybe I can talk cock when presenting answers... So everyone everywhere is like, eh, have you done your tutorials? This is in sharp contrast to the previous 2 weeks where we were like, wat tutorials??
And so the season for mugging begins. Spare time is now spent on tutorials, project group discussions and reading textbooks. Of course, this is abit extreme. But then again, Boran is extreme. Lol. I mean, we are led by the hard-core-and-proud-of-it-mugger Huimin aka The Answer. Lol. So what do you expect?
But ok la. So far it has been quite enjoyable. Mugging as a group is actually not bad. Cos when you're bored, you can talk cock. But the problem arises when talking cock takes up majority of the time... -_-"
Anyway, on a lighter note, GONG LEI IS MR BIZAD!!! Woooo~ So now Tom doesn't have to refund us $29 each. And since he's part of the organising committee, Good Job Tom! Not only in organising the whole event, but also in your brilliant computing of scores to determine Mr Bizad. ;)
And AHM is also over. Crap la, I clocked the same as last year's timing - 1:40 (no, not 1 min 40 sec. Its 1 hr 40 mins for 21km.) Xian. But this year they changed the route, so I can blame the new (and lousy) route for my poor performance. Heh. But basket, the stoopid run aggravated my ankle injury and it still hurts. Crap. But at least I now have an excuse not to run for a few days. Wahaha.

The Start of Another Tiring Weekend

Another tiring weekend ahead.
First, there'll be the Bizad Annual Ball/D and D at Raffles Town Club. The main reason we go for the Ball is because they'll be having the Bizad Pageant Finals that day. So we'll be there to support Gong Lei. Unfortunately this time round, audience vote count only 30% while the remainder will be based on the judges' panel. But regardless... If Gong Lei doesn't win, Tom shall refund Boran. Lol.
And plus this Ball will be special too for other reasons. Won't say it here. ;)
But the main reason why this weekend will be so tiring is because AHM '06 will be on this Sunday!! (Yes, I know, and I'm attending a ball the night before... I zai wat. Lol.) To think I've been training weeks for this.... ok la, actually I train for S'pore Marathon, not really this. Lol. But in any case, its still 21 km. Its still tiring. And its still a challenge. And plus I made that stoopid bet with Mak to beat his time by 30 mins... If thats the case you'll see me coming in first on Sun liao. On par with those Africans and thrashing all the other S'poreans. But no la, its only a run... just try my best... Maybe if I halfway hail a taxi... Hmmm...
But regardless. i dun care about AHM. Not for now at least. Sat night will be more important. Hee... Let's make it a night to remember!

Tiring Weekend

After the 1st week of school, I have one conclusion - If the remainder of this sem were to be like this week, I'll die of extreme boredom. Why? 1) Lectures are boring. 2) I attend %#^&% boring Engineering Lectures man!! 3) I dun know anyone (ok, very few.) from %#& Engineering man!!
Xian.
I'll have to know more people when tutorials start, if not I'll just die freezing and alone in the bloody Engg Lectures. And having attended both Engg and Bizad lectures, I noticed one thing. During the Bizad lecture when there is a break, we really get a break. During Engg lectures when there is a break, the lecturer will be FLOODED by students who seem to have ALOT of qns to ask. Knn. There is, in particular, this pair of Indian (Indian as in born in India.) twins who always seat at the front row (not like there are no seats elsewhere. I'll rather seat on the floor at the top than the front row.) and ALWAYS ask the lecturer qns during break and after lecture. Well, thats one bloody good way of getting recognised by the lecturer. Think the lecturers also scared of them. Crap. Enough of them.
Had a busy weekend. First, there was Jam 'n Hop on Saturday. Basically its the Bizad Pageant preliminaries (Told u I am more Bizad than Engg. Anyway.... Engg got pageant meh?? LOL) that was held at MOS. So basically went there just to support one of the Boranians in the pageant, Gong Lei. And, all thanks to our Boran support, he made it through. Lol. But we left MOS shortly after the pageant cos basically, we dun club. Period. Oh, except Tom. But we went to Chomp Chomp to grab supper. (Dinner for Tom, although it was like, 11??) Food was nice, but the bloody Stingray was bloody spicy. Think the stall auntie/uncle just unloaded the remainder of the day's chilli on our stingrays...
Sunday was even more tiring. No, I didn't take part in the Real Run. Cos the Real Run is a 10km run at Sentosa... and I ran 20km in the morning. o_O Come on la, the AHM 21km run is next week, and I haven't even hit that distance yet for my training, why waste it on a 10k?? Lol. Anyway had BBQ dinner at Changi Chalet with my NS camp people. It was organised by my Chief Clerk and the aunties were particularly interested in my uni life (which is only 1 week old. -_-) and my 'long' hair. But this is the FIRST BBQ I had that DIDN'T require me to cook!! Muahaha. Anyway had a very nice and filling meal. Many Thanx to Mdm Janis for the nice BBQ.
And before I left, she told me Good Luck. Ya... Thanx... Judging by how things are going now, I think I'll need lots of it. LOL.

When U Have Nothing to Do...

I'm typing this basically because I have nothing to do. Can't believe the Boran people are taking so damn long just to ballot for their tutorials. Come on, its only tutorials... but then again, I'm in a different situation. I have only 1 module to ballot. And I didn't even have a @%$&% choice for my Bizad module lor. They basically allocated it to me.
I told the Boran-ians, at least they have a choice of what modules to take, can plan their own timetable, can study same modules together. Me? I was given everything. No freedom, no choice and worse, they gave me a module which so little people took. Knn. I see it from a different perspective la, so that's why they hate module bidding while I'd rather have it. Ah crap, NUS' fault la. Lol. But what to do, not like I'm the boss of NUS - in the end also suck thumb and make the best of my lousy situation.
But CMI leh, these people discuss what modules to take since the morning, and now at night they still not done yet! Kaoz. Basket, like planning to get married liddat. In the end wat the seniors say is right - Balloting wat, just luck. Crap, at least theycan discuss wat tutorials to take together... I can't. -_-
Anyway next week will be nominations for Bizad Club Committee. Can see the election fever building up among the wannabes like Keith, Clarence etc. Crap, they have even formed their own party to take a clean sweep of all the positions lor. Ha, but I'm their supporter. Keith for FOP! Clarence for Welfare! Me? Actually got some people also ask me to run for com. But basically, and truthfully, I'm from Engin Fac, not Bizad. And I be Red Glove already got people kaopeh. So better not run for com. But while my bloody Matric card says I'm from Engin, my Heart is with Bizad. (Erm, maybe need to paraphrase this... Try not to read between the lines... Lol) Come on lor, Engin has so many Foreign Talents they dun need me. Lol.
Anyway, dunno if he'll see this, but: YONG ANN FOR PRESIDENT!!! LOL.

School Starts

And so university life begins.
After 2 yrs 4 months in the Army, my brain has corroded somewhat. Textbooks seem very foreign. Cos in the Army, we are taught NOT to think. Officer say, we sai kang warriors do. No questions asked. Now opposite, with what interactive learning, we must ask questions. (Then can get class participation points mah.) I wonder if questions like: 'Can go toilet?' or 'Can you repeat that again?' count.
Anyway that should be ok, cos if I vaguely remember, in my JC days, I was quite guai lan in class. So my tutors all can remember me - though not necessarily always a good thing. But uni tutorials start 2 weeks later, so I dun know how it'll be like.
But I've attended the first of my lectures and it was, as expected, Bloody Boring. Especially since I'm in Engineering Fac, basket, the whole lecture theatre like full of PRCs and Indian nationals lor. But based on my VJ experience, as time goes by, there will be fewer and fewer PRCs and Indians in the lecture. Cos (they think) they are too bloody smart to attend such boring and stupid lectures. But can't really blame them, I myself felt the lecture was boring. The only redeeming factor was that the lecturer like to talk cock. And thats what prevented me from sleeping. Heh. Maybe I should like in the middle of a boring lecture just shout: ENGIN!! ARE U READYYY???!!!
Talking about that, although I'm technically in Engineering Fac, but I'm the Bizad Red Glove. So I was quite thankful during Rag that Engin Fac was at the opposite end from Bizad. If not basket, I step into Engin lecture suddenly people ask, Eh why this guy so familiar? Is he the crazy idiot shouting away at Rag for Bizad?? Then I gotta say I got a twin brother at Bizad liao... But now that school starts, dunno whether to sign up for any CCAs or not. I remember I signed for Robotics Club in JC cos I thought it was a slack CCA. Turns out otherwise and the 2 teachers-in-charge are ^$%#%^ assholes. But in uni, CCA not compulsory, so see how la...
Think I should get myself more busy in uni... dun wanna waste 4 (5) years there... Xian.

And So Rag is Over...

Rag is over. Bizad Thrashed Science. They may cheer louder than us, but we cheer more than them cos we won more shields than them. Lol.
Anyway, Rag went very smoothly ie. no Cheering cock-ups for me. And plus we won, so everyone was at a high. But unfortunately for my dear frens, there was no special performance. Not because I don't dare to, but because I did not do the necessary groundwork before hand (If never do groundwork, later my special performance will traumatise the person instead.) and also because I am very afraid it'll have the opposite effect instead of the intended one. Hey, this is true k? I will really dare to do it if it wasn't so. So it was scrapped. I'll like to thank all my frens for their kind support. Particularly the whole Boran OG, (dunno if any is reading this) who were particularly supportive. Thanx really.
But in saying so, I'm very angry with myself... To the few people who know what I'm talking about, I can't believe I'm such a coward. (This really has nothing to do with the special performance.) That was why I was so damn pissed off after Rag. To those who saw my black face after Rag (Mainly the Boran people.), I'm very Sorry. But I was really pissed off by myself.
Aiya, shit. This is supposed to be a blog for laughs, not complaints... so sorry dudes. Anyway Rag is over and school starts. Dunno if it'll be better.
Anyway just like to say Thank You to Qinyao for bringing me to Rag, cos thats where I met the Boran-ians. ;) And I'll really miss Rag, for one reason or another. There was this senior who went round interviewing Bizad people for their final words for Rag on the last day of Rag. She asked me and Clarence. (The other Red Glove) Clarence said something, on behalf of me as well.
But what I just want to say about Rag is: No Regrets.

Wish Me Luck... I'll Need It.

Whoever reads this, Wish Me Luck. Wish me All The Best for my Red Glove Rag Cheers this Saturday. And I can assure you, this Saturday will be a Day to Remember... for me at least.
Cos Special Performance is up. Decided liao. No turning back now. Wish Me All The Best for that - I really need it. Thank You Guys.

The Time has Come

Every now and then, we reach a point in life where we'll have to make major decisions. I guess I have come upon one. I know to many others, such a decision as mine is nothing. But this means alot to me. And I won't have much time left. By the end of next week, a decision must be made.
Shit.
Anyways, next week will be the final week before school starts. I'll hate it when next week ends. Next week will also have Rag and Flag Day. For non-NUS students, Flag day is basically a fund-raising activity for charity. Then Rag day will follow and it's basically a mini Chingay cos the different Facs will build their floats and put up performances to express their appreciation to the public for their support on Flag day. And Rag Day will be a big day for me. 1st because I'm the Red Glove, so that day, I'll be leading the Bizad for the cheers etc. Cannot cock up. 2nd reason because that will be the day I make my decision (see above) and depending on what I choose, there'll be a surprise performance that day. ;)
After Rag, school starts and so will the consequences of my decision...
On a lighter note, read on many of my frens' blogs about their love for VS. Now I'm not too sure why the sudden surge in the Victorian Spirit but here's my say:
It is in VS that I met the best of my friends. It may be an all-boys school, but that only meant we all had more fun together. Unlike my other friends, I won't say VS is the best school out there, simply because I'm not in a position to say so. Everyone will say their school is the best, who are we to judge which is better? What is the Victorian Spirit? I don't know. Every Victorian has their own interpretation. There're alot of things about VS which I don't know. But what I do know is that if I have a chance to turn back time and get to choose my secondary school again, I'll choose no other. I have absolutely no regrets being in VS, no matter what others say about it. And thats what I know about VS for sure.
